Notes on the Duo Macintoshes
The undocked Duo has a single serial port. When running Star Gate only the modem port will be available and the printer port will not exist. Note that when the Duo is docked that both ports will be available as if the Duo was a regular two port Macintosh.
In order for Star Gate to use the modem port on an undocked Duo, AppleTalk must be turned off. On a docked Duo AppleTalk will use the printer port leaving the modem port available for Star Gate.
If your Duo has a built-in modem then the PowerBook control panel will have a modem entry, allowing you to select either 'compatible mode' or 'normal mode' (in older versions of the system software, these modes are called 'internal modem' and 'external modem', respectively). Do not use 'compatible' or 'internal modem' since this will cause Star Gate to communicate with the modem hardware rather than the serial mini-DIN connector.
